A former Special Agent of the U.S. Secret Service and attorney, Mr. Falkenberg conducted numerous protective advances for the President of the United States and other government officials here and abroad. “The FOA is dedicated to bringing the best counsel to our members, and for years there we have looked for the type of security and risk mitigation expertise that Chris brings to our Advisory Board,” said Angelo Robles, Founder and CEO, Family Office Association.  “Mr. Falkenberg’s unique blend of legal and law enforcement credentials brings a valuable perspective to our members.”

As a litigator with the New York law firm Davis Polk & Wardwell, Mr. Falkenberg conducted corporate internal investigations and was involved in a wide variety of civil and criminal matters. Prior to that, Mr. Falkenberg clerked for a judge of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. Chartis Announces Expanded Personal Security Services from Private Client Group

New Resources Enhance Protection for Individuals with Complex Risks

NEW YORK–Chartis today announced the expansion of personal security services from its Private Client Group. Two complimentary resources, emergency preparedness services and access to Insite Security, have been introduced to supplement Private Client Group’s comprehensive property and liability insurance offerings for high net worth individuals and families.

The new offerings, which are in addition to an already extensive suite of risk management services designed to reduce the likelihood and severity of property damage, as well as maximize safety, are designed for policyholders with complex exposures resulting from worldwide travel; private home staff; multiple residences; yacht ownership; or extensive collections of art, jewelry or cars.

Emergency preparedness services help reduce threats to family safety, security and personal wealth through activities such as evacuation and communication planning, home security assessments, personal liability assessments, and crisis management. Consultations, either by phone or in person, are conducted by Private Client Group’s team of emergency preparedness specialists who have backgrounds in personal and corporate security and substantial experience advising individuals, families and companies. The consultations can cover:

  • Lifestyle risks, such as how often one travels, who has access to the home and the safety of children away at school;
  • Strategies to handle an incidental house fire or community-wide emergency; and
  • Personalized emergency action plan development.

When needed, policyholders may be referred to a network of third-party vendors to assist with plan implementation. A 24-hour emergency preparedness and response hotline is also provided.

Private Client Group also has partnered with Insite Security, an industry leader in personal security for high net worth individuals that employs law enforcement veterans. Eligible policyholders can receive a one-on-one, at-home consultation (followed by an individualized report outlining potential vulnerabilities and customized solutions); proposals for long-term security; and ongoing security training for staff and family.

“We strive to help our policyholders protect what’s precious to them, and that often means looking beyond material possessions,” said Charles Williamson, President of Private Client Group. “By analyzing their lifestyles and preparing for even the rarest of scenarios, we can maximize safety as well as preserve assets.”

Insite Security Hosts Webinar on Collections Security

Former Special Agent of the U.S. Secret Service Offers Guidance On Protecting Valuable Assets and Investments

What: There is a massive, global-illicit liquid market for any collectible: artwork, jewelry, cars, stamps and coins to name a few. Just a few weeks ago a multi-million dollar original Andy Warhol collection was stolen from the Los Angeles private residence of a businessman. An LAPD detective called the incident ‘a very clean crime,’ meaning the home wasn’t ransacked. What could have been done to prevent this? What do collectors need to know about securing their art to allow for use without compromising security?

Insite Security’s founder and President, Christopher Falkenberg, a former U.S. Secret Service agent, is hosting a webinar to provide corporations and high net worth families and individuals with recommendations on how to assess their collections’ vulnerabilities.

Insite Security Rolls Out Human Factor Integrity Assurance Practice

Former FBI Deception Expert to Provide “Human Lie-Detector” Service to Clients to Help them Avoid Investing in Fraudulent Vehicles

New York, October 14, 2009 – The past year has been called the year of the Ponzi scheme. Tens of thousands of investors lost upwards of $100 billion to fraudulent schemes like those run by Bernie Madoff and Samuel Israel of Bayou Investments. To help investors identify and avoid investing in future schemes, Insite Security (www.insitesecurity.com), has launched its Human Factor Integrity Assurance practice, led by Elizabeth Prial, PhD.

Insite’s Human Factor Integrity practice is an extension of the company’s current due diligence offering. The new offering mixes best-in-breed investigative and due diligence practices with the unique addition of deception detection analysis.

Former FBI Agent and behavior analyst Dr. Elizabeth Prial has joined Insite Security to offer the company’s clients a comprehensive behavioral assessment of the individuals with whom they are considering an investment or engagement. Dr. Prial’s expertise in human factor analysis can help avert disaster by providing on-site observation and real-time feedback regarding the veracity of a subject’s statements and the congruence between their verbal and non-verbal behaviors. Dr. Prial is one of a handful of experts globally who have been trained by the U.S. Government and other experts in detecting deception, facial action coding, micro-expression recognition and statement analysis.

“Investors are looking for assurances that go beyond traditional due diligence practices. They want to know that the firms and individuals they are investing with are honest, reliable and truthful. Current due diligence are designed to protect and detect frauds that are similar to those that have occurred in the past. Fraudsters are smart, learn from the past and design new schemes that are not susceptible to whatever standard due diligence entails,” said Chris Falkenberg, Founder and President of Insite Security. “Dr. Prial brings a skill set to the due diligence process that is nearly impossible to overcome. Her ability to detect deception is truly exceptional, and will bring investors a peace of mind that no other due diligence offering can provide.”

Falkenberg concluded, “Traditional methods of due diligence focus on a company’s financials and overlook the common denominator found in the wake of each case of investment fraud: the human factor. The hallmark of recently exposed investment schemes has been a person’s ability to deceive the investor, the SEC, and auditors. They can’t fool Dr. Prial.”

New Survey of Financial Services Companies Reveals Over 75 Percent Have No Emergency Plans To Deal With H1N1

This fall the CDC estimates that upwards of 50 percent of Americans could come down with the H1N1 virus, killing as many as 1.2 million people. Additionally, there are estimates that many companies will experience between 30-50 percent absenteeism due to employee illness. Yet a recent online survey of nearly 100 top-executives at private equity, hedge funds and other financial services companies, revealed that only ten percent have any real plans in place to deal with the impact of H1N1 on their businesses.

In response to this potential crisis Insite Security (www.insitesecurity.com) has partnered with WorldClinic (www.worldclinic.com) to offer emergency preparedness and business continuity planning in the prevention and management of this new breed of flu.

In a webinar conducted for clients, Christopher Falkenberg, founder and president of Insite Security as well as Daniel Carlin, MD, CEO, WorldClinic addressed topics including: what it is that makes this strain of flu different, how to prevent it, how to treat it, and how to continue operating your business when it hits.

“People must realize that swine flu is serious, and the impact this flu can have on a company’s ability to keep functioning cannot be underestimated.  Any corporation needs to prepare for massive absenteeism that could cause irreparable damage to business operations,” said Mr. Falkenberg. “While H1N1 moderately lethal, it is highly infectious. With the proper plans in place ahead of the flu season, companies can limit the spread of the virus.”
“This is an illness where the young and healthy get the sickest,” said Dr. Carlin. “The best advice to take action against swine flu is to wash hands and face, especially around the nose and mouth, several times a day, carry your own pen, pay with credit cards to avoid handling money, and avoid crowds and closed spaces.”

Insite Security and WorldClinic jointly offer a product called P.A.C.T. – Preparedness, Avoidance, Communications and Training. It is the first service that combines the comprehensive disciplines of emergency medicine with physical security and risk management.

“The Swine Flu: Be Prepared. Protect Your Company and Family” webinar will feature presentations from Christopher Falkenberg, founder and president of Insite Security as well as Daniel Carlin, MD, CEO, WorldClinic. Registration and attendance are free of charge.

“Families and companies around the world need to be thinking about who they will turn to for risk management advice and medical services once H1N1 spreads across the globe,” said Mr. Falkenberg. “It is of vital importance that corporations and individuals make the proper preparations now to help mitigate the impact of this disease on business functions as well as for the health and well being of themselves and their families. Together, Insite and WorldClinic have created a unique offering to help prepare and protect people from this potential disaster.”

“This past spring, H1N1 grew to become a global pandemic. Over the summer we have seen somewhat of a decrease in the number of patients, but as the fall begins and schools open up again, global medical experts expect the Swine Flu to increase in virulence and prevalence around the world,” Dr. Carlin added. Insite Security and WorldClinic recently announced a partnership to offer a new approach to medical care and security for business entities and high net worth individuals and families. Insite Security Launches Kidnapping Resolution Practice

Former Lead FBI Negotiator Christopher Voss Joins Insite to Head Practice

NEW YORK, July 27, 2009 – Due to the global economic downturn international kidnapping for ransoms is on the rise. By some estimates, on any given day there are between one and six Americans being held as an international hostage. To help protect its high net worth and corporate clients and to provide the best possible negotiation services available, Insite Security has formally launched its Kidnapping Resolution Practice.

This new division for Insite will be led by internationally acclaimed kidnapping negotiator Christopher Voss. Mr. Voss has worked over 150 kidnappings worldwide and has been trained by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Scotland Yard and Harvard University. During his tenure with the FBI, Mr. Voss climbed up the ranks to become the bureau’s lead international kidnapping negotiator at the Crisis Negotiation Unit based at Quantico. Prior to that, Mr. Voss was a member of the New York City Joint Terrorist Task Force.

“Most of our clients carry some form of kidnapping insurance, but the problem with these policies is the incentive structure. Insurance companies are incented to negotiate the lowest fee possible to secure the return of a kidnap victim,” said Christopher Falkenberg, founder and president of Insite Security. “Sadly most families or companies do not know that they can bring in their own negotiator to resolve these situations. By bringing in someone that is not incented by price constraints, the likelihood of a quick and safe return improves.”

According to Mr. Voss, “The first twenty-four hours of a kidnapping are always the most critical. Each negotiation is unique and you need someone who has been through the process dozens of times in order to be effective. My goal in any negotiation is to get the victim home as quickly as possible. As long as my client is committed to that goal I will bring the person home.”

“Chris Voss has unique expertise in the field. He is, simply put, one of the world’s most experienced and effective hostage negotiators. We could think of no better person to lead this practice,” said Mr. Falkenberg.

The Kidnapping Resolution practice is the most recent extension of Insite Security’s full-service security and risk management services offered to corporations and high net worth individuals and families. The company recently launched its global medical concierge service with WorldClinic and plans on rolling out new offerings in the coming months.

Insite will also be launching a series of online seminars on security issues affecting corporations and high net worth families. Look for Mr. Voss to present on kidnapping, ransom negotiation and keeping your family and staff safe.

Insite Security Partners with WorldClinic

DEAL OFFERS MERGED MEDICAL AND SECURITY NEEDS FOR COMPANIES AND HIGH NET WORTH FAMILIES

NEW YORK – July 8, 2009 – Insite Security Inc. and WorldClinic have partnered to create a revolutionary approach to medical care and security for large companies and high net worth individuals and families.

Founded by former Secret Service agent and litigator Christopher Falkenberg, Insite Security is a full-service security and risk management agency for corporations and high net worth individuals.

The new offering, called P.A.C.T. – Preparedness, Avoidance, Communications and Training – is the first service that combines the comprehensive disciplines of emergency medicine, through WorldClinic, with physical security and risk management, through Insite Security.

“Globalization has made international travel for business and leisure an everyday occurrence. Travel itself has become a risk factor that needs to be prepared for and mitigated against,” said Christopher Falkenberg, Founder and President of Insite Security. “We have been providing on-the-ground advance and security for dozens of corporations and high net worth individuals and families. By offering a complete medical solution to our clients, we provide added peace of mind in a challenging and dangerous world.”

Dr. Daniel J. Carlin, CEO, WorldClinic added “The chance of a catastrophic event happening in modern life is much higher than just 10 years ago. Be it the threat of a pandemic like the H1N1 virus, which we have not seen the last of, or a medical emergency where your family is traveling abroad and in need of urgent medical treatment in a remote location, WorldClinic is equipped to address all scenarios.”

WorldClinic, founded by Dr. Carlin, provides 24/7 personal telemedical care and consultation, detailed destination medical research, portable prescription medical kits, a 24/7 electronic medical record archive and rapid physician-tophysician second-opinion referrals for any serious or complex illness. Mr. Falkenberg and Dr. Carlin partnered to offer one dedicated solution focusedon corporations and high net worth families.

“Never before has there been such a need for a comprehensive collaboration of medical preparedness and risk management,” said Mr. Falkenberg. “When people think of security, rarely do they consider medical contingency planning, which is essential. For families and executives who are traveling the world, there are many locations where 9-1-1 simply won’t help.”

WorldClinic consists of a multi-specialty physician group which, though anchored in the specialty of emergency medicine, includes virtually all major medical specialties including pediatrics, cardiology and trauma. The physician group is closely supported by an unusually diverse support staff consisting  of emergency medical personnel, informatics specialists and telemedical technology experts. The company maintains and operates a proprietary network of over 4,000 U.S. trained board certified physicians who have relocated outside the USA. The integration of WorldClinic’s physician “home team” with this private physician network enables WorldClinic to offer their clients an immediately available personal physician who can provide a complete care solution regardless of location or circumstance.

“It’s our job to know the best cardiologist in Jakarta; where the closest cardiac catheterization lab is in Beijing and how to evacuate a patient with an open ankle fracture in the Andes,” continued Dr. Carlin. “But combine that service with advance travel investigation and risk management offered by Insite, and you have a very complete emergency preparedness plan.”

ABOUT WORLDCLINIC

WorldClinic is a unique medical practice caring for executives and high net worth families whose lifestyle requires immediate access to a personal doctor for any health issue, at any hour, from anywhere in the world. WorldClinic services include a 24/7 personal physician care team, comprehensive health planning, medical provisioning for travel and home, medical contingency planning for disasters, a highly secure 24/7 electronic medical record archive, and rapid physician-to-physician second opinion referrals for serious or complex illness. The scope of WorldClinic’s physician practice includes routine clinical advice, emergency guided care, personal disease research and treatment option planning, and all other aspects of personal health and wellness. Insite Security opens Greenwich office

SECURITY AGENCY OPENS OFFICE TO FOCUS ON SECURITY NEEDS OF HIGH NET WORTH INDIVIDUALS AND CORPORATIONS

NEW YORK and GREENWICH, Conn. – June 1, 2009 – Insite Security, a full-service security and risk management agency for corporations and high net worth individuals, has opened a new office in Greenwich, Conn. to meet the needs of the state’s other potential clients.

The Greenwich office, lead by William Whiteside, a former Secret Service Agent and Deputy U.S. Marshal, will focus on the unique needs of the Connecticut market, with a specific focus on providing services to private equity, hedge fund and high net worth clientele.

The Insite Security team consists of former Special Agents of the U.S. Secret Service and Federal Bureau of Investigation, as well as command-level officers of the New York City Police and Fire Departments. Insite’s staff includes the State Department’s former lead terrorism analyst as well as physicians who are board-certified in emergency medicine.

“The Connecticut market has specific security needs that are different than other locales. Due to the concentration of financial services firms and highprofile families of means, communities like Greenwich, New Caanan, Cornwall and others have security requirements that are not being met,” said Christopher Falkenberg, President and Founder of Insite Security. “We chose to open an office in Greenwich because of our expertise in high net worth family and property protection along with the work we have done with many financial services firms in the New York City metro area.”

Mr. Falkenberg, a former Secret Service agent, and litigator with Davis, Polk & Wardwell, is considered one of the nation’s leading security experts. He is  routinely quoted in the national media on all issues surrounding security and threat preparedness. His firm has helped many individuals and corporations prepare for, avoid and manage high risk threats including the recent Swine Flu (H1N1) pandemic scare.

“Now more than ever we see companies and individuals taking an active role not just with their personal security, but also in their homes, offices, and even schools for their children,” said Mr. Falkenberg. “At Insite, we have seen an increase in requests for our travel security services for overseas tourism and business travel. In Connecticut we expect that background investigations for domestic employees, as well as emergency preparedness planning to be in great demand.”

While with the Secret Service, Mr. Falkenberg conducted numerous protective advances for the President, government officials both here and abroad and visiting dignitaries. He led investigations of major fraud cases and worked on successful prosecution and sentencing of the perpetrators. Among his awards and citations, he received the Treasury Department’s Special Service Award and was recognized for heroism following the 1993 World Trade Center bombing. As a litigator, Mr. Falkenberg conducted corporate internal investigations and was involved in a wide variety of civil and criminal matters.

Insite Security clients include Interpublic Group, Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, Polo Ralph Lauren, Blue Mountain Capital, Centaraus Capital and many other corporations, private equity firms and hedge funds.
